15 years ago, I started using a "third eye" as a camera to see the world from a distance, driven by instinct rather than intention. Through it, I discovered happiness in daily life and felt connected to all living beings. It led me to realize that repeating normal, casual moments is the most precious thing in this world.
When I lost my dad at 34, my memories of him weren't fantastical; they were everyday scenes, like him eating barbecue lamb and drinking Kirin beer at our family table. Deeply personal, yet universal.
With this belief, I’ve traveled capturing everyday sceneries. Then in 2020, COVID-19 took daily life away. I don’t want the ordinary world I’ve recorded over 15 years to become a mere happy memory of what used-to-be, nor do I want the normal to become nostalgic.
Tomorrow morning when I wake up, what will my third eye see? No, what if my third eye is filming tomorrow?
